Madhav Das Rathore

Founder, The Indian Bucket List

Over the last 25 years, I have worked on various projects throughout the Indian subcontinent, from leading special interest tours for the Royal Academy of Arts, London to managing operations of India’s top luxury trains, The Deccan Odyssey & The Maharajas’ Express. During two decades, I have enjoyed developing benchmark products which exposed me to work on travel trends, tailor-made itineraries, product building, sales, promotions, and operations.

The magic of nature and her perfect balance soothes me. Travel bug found me 26 years ago and reeled me in with her magic. I’ve been a tour director and travel product specialist, as well hosted guests before designing luxury journeys. I have hot air ballooned over the Aravalli’s, bungie jumped in America, trekked to see the Dholadhar range, watched a leopard coalition stroll languidly through a dry riverbed in the hills of Mewar, observed tiger mating, managed and directed tours on the renowned Maharajas Express & Deccan Odyssey, and wined and dined in the best of the best hotels and lodges our continent has to offer. I’ve explored India and Nepal, drinking in the diverse culture, architecture, wildlife, spirituality and extraordinary colours of its regions. The magic of nature and her perfect balance has soothed me, filled me with wonder and motivated me to share this with as many people as I can.

I have visited Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Malaysia, Mauritius, Austria, Hungary, England, Italy, Switzerland, United States of America and spent 48 hours in Taiwan.

A few things I love travelling with – camera, binoculars, trekking boots and a good book.
